What Is Holistic Psychotherapy?
Holistic psychotherapy is an approach to mental health care that treats the whole person — not just symptoms in isolation. Where traditional talk therapy focuses primarily on thought patterns and behaviours, holistic psychotherapy also addresses the body's role in emotional experience, the spiritual dimensions of growth, and the interconnected nature of a person's inner and outer life.
This approach is well-suited for people navigating anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, relationship challenges, and self-esteem struggles. It is also meaningful for those who feel that conventional therapy has only addressed part of the picture, and who are looking for a more complete path to healing and self-understanding.
Holistic psychotherapy does not replace clinical rigour. It extends it.
How Karen Works
Karen Gale holds a Master's Degree in Holistic and Spiritual Psychotherapy from Transformational Arts College in Toronto, and brings a depth of training that goes well beyond the standard psychotherapy curriculum. Her approach integrates the body, mind, and spirit as a unified system, drawing on modalities that include somatic awareness, breathwork, guided visualization, meditation, and Reiki-informed principles.
Sessions are grounded in clinical practice and shaped by what each client actually needs. Karen is a Registered Psychotherapist in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals. She also brings the perspective of a Certified Life Coach, meaning that work with Karen can extend from healing the past into building a purposeful, grounded future.

How Holistic Psychotherapy Helps
Increased self-awareness and emotional clarity Many clients develop a clearer understanding of their patterns, responses, and inner world, which becomes the foundation for meaningful change.
Greater capacity to process emotion By engaging the body and spirit alongside the mind, clients often find they can move through difficult feelings more fully, rather than managing or suppressing them.
Forward momentum alongside healing Karen's dual background in psychotherapy and life coaching means clients are supported not only in working through past pain, but in building clarity, confidence, and direction for what comes next.

It treats the person as a whole system rather than addressing a single layer.
No. Holistic psychotherapy is not tied to any religion or belief system. The "spiritual" dimension refers to questions of meaning, purpose, and inner life, which are relevant to most people, regardless of their background or worldview.
